The Show written by Alex Hirsch. In this show twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle, Grunkle Stan, in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Ore. Grunkle Stan has the kids help him run The Mystery Shack, the tourist trap that he owns. The twins try to adapt to the weird surroundings but sense there is something strange about Gravity Falls and begin to unlock its secrets. When Dipper uncovers a cryptic journal that offers insight into the town's mysteries, he and Mabel use it and their enthusiastic desire to vanquish evil to battle the imminent mysteries that surround them.
My Thoughts: This is my best childhood Tv show ever. The show balances comedy, mystery and the elements of childhood. The twist and turns keep you at the edge of your seat while your characters develop and learn lessons throughout. The story raises the theme that even though things change in life, it does'nt mean we have to change along with it. You can be the tide pulling opposite the current, you can be the one who doesn't jump of the cliff. The story raps up relatively conclusively, but still leaves the viewer yearning for more. The fact that this show wasn't squeezed out like many other great successful shows really conveys the creative liberty Alex Hirsch was given on this project. The presentation of these deep themes and great characters boosts this show to the next level, making this one of the best cartoons of the generation. If you are a person of any demographic or age, I think we can all find something to resonate within this show. Summer ends, childhood ends, Gravity Falls ends, but the impact this show has had on me will never die.
